If you need support for any other reason, the charge will be $20.00 per fifteen minutes. Most matters are resolved within fifteen minutes. We apologize for needing to charge for technical support, but the software is free, after all, and employing personnel necessary for support does not come for nothing.
We-Blocker is a FREE software package that when installed in any Windows 95/98/ME/2000/NT4.0 personal computer, will block offensive material such as pornography, violence, gambling, drugs and alcohol, hate speech, weaponry and adult subjects, without limiting the educational potential of the Internet. You also have the ability to block or un-block sites, either by category or by words and phrases to personalize your Internet viewing. how does we-blocker know what to block? We-Blocker knows to block a site from loading in your browser because it is listed:
how do i access a blocked site? If your account is a PARENT account, you can access a blocked site in three ways:
how quickly will sites i block on my pc be blocked? Sites you list as blocked on your computer through {manual blocking} will be blocked immediately. how quickly will sites submitted be blocked for all users? Sites submitted to We-Blocker for global blocking via {site blocking} must go through a review process to ensure that the site submitted contains material that fits our criteria. It usually takes two business days for your efforts to be rewarded, and for the site that you submitted to be blocked for all users should it fall within the {seven categories}. what about news sites that appear each day? The We-Blocker software will periodically check to make sure your software is current. If your We-Blocker is out of date, We-Blocker will remind you to download the updated files from our website. how can i get a site removed from being blocked? Send us a removal request through {site blocking explaining why you feel the site is needlessly blocked. We'll review your request and the site in question. If it has been mistakenly listed, it will be removed. This process usually requires two to three business days. why should i register we-blocker? If you need to upgrade your browser, download the latest copy of {Microsoft's Internet Explorer} or {Netscape}. does we-blocker work with aol & other service providers? We-Blocker currently supports AOL 6.0 and Compuserve 6.0. We-Blocker does not currently support MSN or earlier versions of AOL and Compuserve. how difficult is we-blocker to install? We-Blocker is very easy to install. We have specifically designed our software with the novice computer user in mind to keep the installation and operation of the software as simple as possible. No. We-Blocker is designed specifically to not detract from the power to use the Internet in the way that you normally do. Using We-Blocker with search engines will bring up a full range of results, but access to blocked web sites will, of course, be restricted. what can i do about a forgotten password? The only way you can re-obtain your password is through Live Tech Support. It is available seven days a week. You can reach us between the hours of 8 A.M. and 10 P.M. PST Monday - Friday. On the weekends (Saturday and Sunday) support is available from 6 A.M. to 9 P.M. PST. There will be $10.00 charge applied payable with Visa or Mastercard. Please have your credit card information ready, and be sitting at the machine on which you have We-Blocker installed. how can i uninstall we-blocker? To uninstall We-Blocker, go to your Start Menu. Under "Programs," choose "We-Web" and then from the resulting menu, choose "We-Blocker Uninstall ". You will be prompted to enter your password, and provided that the password is correct, We-Blocker will completely uninstall itself. can anyone but me uninstall we-blocker? Not without knowing your master password (the password you used when you installed We-Blocker). Prevent anyone from learning your password by writing it down, and keeping it in a safe place where no one else will find it. how protected will my child be using we-blocker? We-Blocker provides very good protection from potentially objectionable Internet content. However, We-Blocker would like to remind you that no software can substitute for an attentive parent. Please check your We-Blocker history logs on a regular basis to check what your child is viewing on the Internet, and take the opportunity to discuss this material with your child. can we-blocker be used for my business? Yes. Everyone is encouraged to use We-Blocker. We will be offering customizable versions of We-Blocker for schools, libraries, businesses, religious organizations, and city governments. This will allow different groups to block sites representing their individual concerns, and display banners promoting their organization. why do i not get a blocked notification page sometimes when i hear the 'blocked' alert? Sometimes pages that have NOT BEEN blocked have images that HAVE BEEN blocked on them. Instead of modifying the layout of the page, We-Blocker attempts to replace the image with a blank image that simply blends in with the background of the webpage, giving the appearance of a blank page. what can i do if my pc runs slowly after installing we-blocker? You may notice a slight reduction in performance when browsing ONLY if you have the word-blocking feature activated, so check and make sure this is not activated if you see a reduction in performance.
